Configuring EEGer for TT ProComp2 Amplifier

  1. Determine if your amplifier is using a ProSB or a TT-USB connection. This will be labelled on the part connecting the fiber optic cable to the amplifier; the TT-USB is blue while the Pro-SB is silver.
  2. Open EEGer and navigate to Options > EEGer Configuration Options along the top toolbar.
  3. On the tab labelled Devices, click the drop-down menu for 6 Source of EEG/peripheral data and select either TT-USB or ProSB depending on how the amplifier is connected.
  4. Click on Close preferences window in the bottom-center of the screen.

Now EEGer will be able to recognise the amplifier based on the method of connection. We will now need to configure settings based on the amplifier itself.

  1. Unplug the amplifier and ensure the power switch is in the 'off' position. If the fiber optic cable is inserted into the amplifier, disconnect it.
  2. Open the battery compartment and remove the battery if one is present.
  3. In the top-left of the compartment you will see four small, white switches. These are labelled with a number between 1-4 and can be found alongside an arrow to display orientation.
  4. Starting with Switch 1 (left-most and closest to the arrow), place the switches in the following pattern:

UP | DOWN | UP | UP

We have now set the amplifier to BioGraph mode, which will allow EEGer to identify the signal accurately. You may now replace the battery and close the compartment, then reconnect the fiber optic cable.

  1. Open EEGer if it is closed and navigate to Options > EEGer Configuration Options.
  2. Navigate to th Device Options tab and find the section labelled Thought Technology ProComp/Infiniti options.
  3. We will change 2 ProComp/Infiniti Communications protocol to BioGraph.
  4. Click on Close preferences window in the bottom-center of the screen.

Finally, if your amplifier is connected via ProSB, there is one additional configuration option before the amplifier will work for live sessions.

  1. Connect the amplifier to the computer and switch it to the 'on' position.
  2. Open EEGer and navigate to Help > Com Port Info along the top toolbar.
  3. A small window reporting active com ports should pop up. Take note of the com port being displayed.
  4. Close the com port window and navigate to Options > EEGer Configuration Options
  5. Under Devices, change 7 Serial port for data source connection to the com port we identified using the Com Port Info screen.
  6. Click on Close preferences window in the bottom-center of the screen.

Everything should now be configured for running live sessions in EEGer using the ProComp2.
